HRE's Off, OEM On

Haven't posted much here recently so figured I would post some new pictures. One of my C20's decided it wanted to crack a few weeks ago so I had to go with my back ups, a set of 18x8 S4 Avus's that I've had sitting around for quite some time. Luckly found some FK452's locally in short notice for the S4 wheels and didn't have any downtime!

I've loved the HRE's for the year I have had them but after having one of my front wheels leaking between the pieces from the day I got them brand new and now the barrell cracking for no reason, it's time for them to go. I thought HRE had gotten their sh*t together, especially on the Comp series but I guess that's not the case

Not sure what will be next but the OEM look doesn't bother me too much for the time being!

Enjoy!

Shawn

This stance definitely will be missed!

And a bit more modest for the time being

And no, not an S4 ... but much faster than one!

And my front wheel at the end of its life, no bend, dings, dents, nothing, just cracked

I ran into the same problem with my HRE's. I was the second owner of the set and for about 6 months had no problems. Then the inner barrels started leaking on two of them. HRE's price to fix them was just about the same as a new rim, so the math didn't work. I still have them and trying to figure out what to do.

Give Vince a call at HRE, 760-598-1960. Depending on their age, they may be under warranty as long as there are NO bends in the wheels.
