We just got done with the install on this B7 S4 and I wanted to share it with you guys. We installed Neuspeed springs, an RS4 rear swaybar, and painted the wheels in Quartz grey. Let us know if you're interested in similar upgrades for your vehicle.

Why no front sway bar?
Hi,

I have a 2005 S4 (B6) and am very interested in a Neuspeed Sport Spring / Rear Sway set up. Am hoping to lower the stance a bit and improve on the factory handling, (while not introducing too much additional stiffness to the factory ride).

Am curious why there doesn't seem to be many owners installing aftermarket front sway bars... Is it simply not needed?

I understand that a rear sway focuses on eliminating understeer but would have thought that a front sway bar may be needed in order to keep things balanced...

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I installed the Neuspeed sport spring / rear sway setup on my '05 B6. Total drop is about 3/4 inch from factory. Definately no need for a heavier front swaybar, the factory one is by far adequate.

The ride comfort is actually better than stock now. Stock had a bit of a harshness on smaller bumps, almost jarring in comparison to the neuspeed set up.

As soon as you drive slightly more agressive there is very minimal bounciness (as is sometimes the case with lowering), and the car is extremely planted. Road feedback is enhanced leaving you ample time to feel when the tires are starting to lose their grip.

Gotta wonder why they didn't do this from factory...

desbiss is correct, the drop is .75" on the Neuspeed Springs. The B7 owner is very pleased with the ride/handling, and the car is a daily driver. Regarding the swaybars, the B6 does seem to need a stiffer rear to achieve a nice balance (more so than the B7).
