Attached is a video our demo Gumpert Apollo on the dyno. We are testing a new hot weather / track cooling package for the USA cars. This car was Roland Gumperts personal car serial #001 and I am honored to have it. This car has all of the latest updates with larger charge coolers, larger oil coolers, larger water coolers, rear bonnet naca ducts for the added transmission cooler, 4-corner suspension lift and many added features. Once all of the work is complete I will do a full write up with all of the specifications. Marc from Gumpert is here at EVOMS now (pictured in the original post) working with our technicians on the final assembly. We will be track testing it later this week and I will be sure to get some footage to share. Thanks

anyone know how different this 4.2 is from the 4.2 in the r8? Why can this be turbo and so powerful, yet no one can develop anything worthwhile for the r8's 4.2?

Bigrigger has a spectacular aura aboutBigrigger has a spectacular aura about
Im pretty sure they sleeved the motor and did all custom internals.

Stock R8 motor Compression Ratio is 12.5:1 Vs.The Apollo is 9.3:1

Motor
V8-cylinder-Biturbomotor with 90° cylinder angle, Closed-Deck light metal crankcase, light metal cylinder heads with five valves per cylinder, four overhead camshafts, variable time of ignition (Vario Cam direct) on the intake, hydraulic valve clearance compensation, dry sump lubrication, double-flow exhaust system with 3-way catalytic converter, four Lambda probes for gas mixture and diagnostics, On-board diagnostic system, Intercooler, engine
management ME7.1.1, electronic ignition with a rested ignition distribution (eight ignition coils), sequential multipoint fuel injection, electronic accelerator system (drive-by-wire)

Cylinder / type / valves per cylinder 8 / 90°-V/5
Cubic capacity cm³ / in³4,163 / 254
Stroke - Boremm / in93/3.66 - 84,5/3.32
Nominal output kW / HP at rev / min 478/650 at 6,500
Max. torqueNm / lb ft at rev / min850/626.9 at 4,000
Maximum revrev / min 7,200
Litre performance kW/I / HP/I 114,8 / 156
Compression / recommended fuel type 9.3 / 98 ROZ / 88 MOZ

And besides PES, VF and MTM have all made a Supercharger kit for the R8 4.2 so if you want more performance all you need is some extra cash.

25K for 560 HP? No thanks. Might as well buy an NA V10 and chip it, or buy and NA V10 and TT is.

Bingo! Hardcore Racing, with AC, Stereo, and License Plates. What more could you ask for. The body is designed for down force and racing. There may be parts of the car that may look "ugly" to some, but EVERY aspect of the aerodynamics has a function. When the single most important role of the Gumpert Apollo is to perform, it without a doubt does that and then some.

I was able to drive the car tonight and it was amazing. It is so crisp and it pulls VERY HARD and never lets up. The car handles like nothing else that I have ever driven. It will be even more fun when we shake it down next week at the track and dial in the suspension. Enjoy the pics!
