997TT vs V10 R8

I am considering trading in my 997TT for a V10 R8...would appreciate any opinions on these 2 cars and pros/cons of switching

here is a good thread about it:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-997tt-r8.html

my opinion:

The 997 TT MKI and the R8 V10 are pretty evenly matched.
The new 997 TT MKII PDK is significantly faster, esp. in straightline contests.
(but then the MKII-PDK is faster than almost all other sports cars except for Veyrons, Koenigseggs or highly modded cars.)

The R8 has a sound and looks that kill and if u don`t need the 2 extra seats the R8 wins in my book. It may not be superfast like the new 997TT-PDK but it is very fast and most important: sexy as hell!

I think your back will hurt less in the R8 , ride is a little smoother.

I'm considering going from 997.1S to V8 R8. I personally don't like the styling of the V10, a little garish IMO. The other option is an 09 LP540-4 or a 991S (will have to wait and see). These cars are all great and I don't think one can go wrong either way.

I think the R8 has a more refined interior.

My dilemma is get a V8 and put a blower on it, or get a V10.

v8 vs v10 have minimal differences though and those differences are easily replaceable. if you are referring to v10 emblems on fenders as a little garish, i got nothing else to say.

r8 will get looks everywhere, people will literally stop and stare, porsche will fly under the radar

r8 is much more comfortable, it has very little storage space though, if you like going away for ther weekend with the mrs then this is probably not the car for you...unless its to a nudist resort

both cars are amazing, its a nice dilema to have

Good point. I'm not as fond of the V10 sideblades and "black bar" on the bumper but those are easily replaceable. Furthermore, the V10 has myriad standard feature which are pricey options on the V8.

definitely the r8...looks more exotic in my opinion and much more unique. can't go wrong with either though.
