AUDI RS5 V8 INCONEL EXHAUST by KLINE INNOVATION
KLINE INCONEL project.
One of our development projects on an AUDI RS5 V8.
We designed :
- complete DE CAT manifolds
- manifold back system valvetronic
The system, made from F1 grade INCONEL 625, is very lightweight and high strength,
The sound is very much GT race car on Dynamic mode. But when you switch the car to comfort mode it becomes OEM quiet, the diffrence is stunning. The car can be driven incognito on comfort mode but transform into a race car just with the push of a button !
Manifolds are a mere 2.8 kg each.

Our system can be ordered in 2 stages :
1. Manifold + manifold-back system
2. Manifold back system
Both Valvetronic and complete DE CAT.
Mid silencers and rear silencers.
We can fabricate the parts in stainless steel or INCONEL 625.
We haven t made a complete dyno run with all the parts on the car. It will be done and we will show figures here on forum.
The car feels a lot quicker, the most restrictive parts are the manifolds with mani-catalyst. Removing the cats from the manifolds and the cats from the system will give a big power gain.

INCONEL 625
Manifolds - 7400 USD
Manifold-back system - 6500 USD
We can also provide hybrid exhaust - INCONEL manfiolds with stainless system.
I dont want to compare direct with competition since it s not fair. We let customers decide.

Formula 1 exhaust are all made from INCONEL 625. It s strong and light.
In comparison with stainless, sidewall thickness we use is 0.7mm . Stainless would be 1.5mm sidewall.
The total weight of the system will be less than 50% compared to OEM. And one of the star features of Inconel - SOUND. You cant hit the same harmonic resonance with any other material. It s very high pitched and agressive .

Yield strength 415-750 Mpa

Kliine guys - what did you think of the stock exhaust manifolds on the RS5? Were they a pretty big restriction in your minds? They look to be pretty basic logs...which is odd. The B7 RS4 launched in 2006 went with tri-y headers as stock. Wonder why Audi skimped on the B8 RS4/5. Seems to save bucks but fortunately for us it may leave a bunch of torque and power on the table.
Also what diameter are the collectors and the merge and the catback?
Pretty awesome looking product with some spacey material to make it from. Exciting stuff for the RS5. Congrats on the product launch. Looking forward to seeing some results.

Hi Sakimano. I am glad you like our products. We put much effort in designing and fabricating each part.
Rs5 OEM manifolds have a tight space dictated design. And obviously they had a certain buget. The part is very restrictive due to 400 cell manicats. The oem cats have a negative effect on the manifolds scavenge region. Oem manifolds internal diameter is 38mm. If you compare with RS4 4.2 V8 manifolds, the RS5 part is more restrictive.
Our manifolds have 41mm primaries, system size on tubing is 70mm .
We will measure on two individual dynos, one in Europe and one in Australia, both cars have our manifolds. I will post the results !

Our prototype is INCONEL 625 made. We tested on road and drag use at +25 degrees and -14 degrees .
Inconel 625 is used for temperature ranges 0 Kelvin / -273 Celsius up to 1200 degrees Celsius which is 1473 Kelvin.
