2015 US Model Audi TTS only has 265 BHP?

Was looking around the net today and saw that the Euro version Audi TTS has 310 BHP, US only gets 265 BHP! Where in the F*KC did the other 45 BHP go. Why would they dump the horsepower so much from Europe to here?

Could we get the power back up to 310 BHP VIA ECU tuning, or would we have to put bigger Turbos on it. That last bit don't make sense. Should be able to just turn up the boost and usually a manufacturer won't go out of their way of changing something like the size of a turbo these days. Most times its just in fuel mapping.

I think you may have been looking at mark 2 TTS data. Mark 3 TT & TTS specifics were announced at the Geneva Auto Show in early march and I've seen reports showing the US TTS will have either 306 or 310 hp (the outgoing car has 265 hp). I was surprised last week while at my local Audi dealer to see TTS vehicles for sale with either 2014 or 2015 MY stickers. Those bearing 2015 MY stickers are still mark 2 cars as the mark 3 won't be available until this fall. Probably as a 2015.5 with 306 or 310 hp. Hope that helps. Lots of press releases out there though that summarize much better than I have
