How much is okay for an R8 Spyder ?
Hello Everyone,
I am thinking of buying a spyder around 60-80 or even less if i can. The main reason will be to drive between manhattan-hamptons-great neck.
I really don't know how much should i pay for a spyder. Can i buy a reliable spyder for my budget or should i pay more ?
Regards
Burak

Thats really cheap. Even my 2009 r8 v8 coupe is worth around 75k
A 2008 coupe v8 with 40k miles can sometimes be had for 68-70k
BUT.....
From what Ive seen the spyders dont hold their values as well as the coupes.
I think if you look really good you might find a first year v8 spyder for 80k usd im America. Not sure what they sell for in other countries.
With the spyders......
You buy a r8 for the unique styling and awesome handling.
With the spyder you are eliminating the side carbon blade that screams R8 and also losing the under the glass view of the engine. Two highlights of the R8.
Then your adding like 200 pounds to the R8s handling and performance..
A v8 hits 60 mph in 4.1
A v10 hits 60 mph in 3.6
A v10 spyder hits 60 in 3.9
A v8 spyder hits 60 in 4.4
Your just losing a lot buy going with a spyder and this is why I think they seem to sell for quite a bit less than coupes despite having a much higher msrp.
