Ordered My S4 the Other Day

So i have sold My BMW and joined the ranks among S owners. I ordered a and S4 and should be here is mid May. I got the following options:

Brilliant Black

And of course... a 6 speed

It is killing me waiting. I am about to kill someone. Here are the mods that i plan on getting:

any one have any other ideas....

you really think it is going to hurt resale value that bad? I thought it would be nice for the track to have about 75lbs taken off the room and more room for helmets. I am kind of impartial to the option. I really dont care to have it or not have it. I have it in my BMW 330Ci and i never use it. I could always call and tell them to put in the sunroof.

Put the sunroof back in, honestly, on a 4,000lb car, the sunroof isn't going to be a big deal and it will hurt resale.

Congrats on the purchase, great car in a great color.

I do have to agree with the others regarding the sunroof. I think you'll only regret it later.

ok, i am convinced, I am calling tomorrow and the sunroof is going back in.Come on, the S4 doesnt weight 4000, it is like 3,700.

The wait is going to kill me. The car is supposed to arrive the weekend after exams (double major is mechanical engineering and accounting with a minor in math). This will be an awesome way to start the summer after a week of studying for every hour of the day.

I would go for the RS4 except for a couple reasons:
#1, I love to mod and modding an Rs4 is expensive. I love ordering parts and workign on the car myself, being an engineering student it is a fun little challenge.
#2, a 19 year old with a RS4 will be raped with a brick stick by insurance companies driving a RS4. They should include a free pack of JY and condoms with the coverage.
#3, A RS4 attracts too much attention on a college campus in a small town with lots of un-happy cops. A student killed a police officer while the student tried to run from a DUI arrest. I brought my 996TT (mine and my dads, he bough and I mod) down once and i thought soemone painted a bullseye on my back window. I got pulled over three times on a strip of road 2 miles long that is the main street in Oxford, MS.

So there are you reasons why i do not buy an RS4. I was hard enough getting the bank statement after i paid the dealer for the car, i can imagine another $15,000 tacked on top.

Ditch the stock wheels (or save them for winter) and get something light...

Congrats! Prepare to wash it 5 times a day - brilliant black so beautiful, but also a dirt magnet, literally speaking
Must-have mod: The RS4 steering wheel.

And I seriously doubt 99% of the people on campus is gonna be able to tell the difference between the S4 DTM and the RS, if they're both debadged.

Ditto on the European RS4 steering wheel. That would be in my first group of mods, along with 18% window tint and a Stratmosphere short shifter.

Good luck with it. Your mods list sounds good. I agree with the Stasis suspension but would go with their street setup if it's a daily driver. I had H&R coilovers on my 2000 S4 Bi-Turbo and it was a bit harsh w/ 19" wheels.

Cya,
Brad

Same reasons people are leaving Corvettes for Porsches... Our penises got bigger and/or we grew our hair back.
