I truly hope someone buys this soon and I have personally passed this listing on to two of my friends in the market for a car telling them that they should consider a 911.

talk about an inexpensive way to get into a nice, low mileage 911. it's a damn shame that many people have probably looked at this listing and thought of possible IMS failure when in reality this car is likely 100 percent sound.

Crazy thing is I was trolling couple forums for a nice set of wheels for when the weather gets nice again here in NY. Haven't even been able to drive much because condition, weather wise have been so bad.
Yes i'm familiar with IMS bearing issues. I read all about it. I went to the dealer two weeks ago to get a full service record on the car because a couple prospective buyers were inquiring about that. It was not done by the dealer at which i purchased the car. They explained to me that there is no way of knowing if it was done if they didn't do it and have it on record or if i didn't have it done personally and know for a fact that it was changed.
The last prospective buyer had everything ready to have it done at his local INDY shop and he said it was going to cost him $1500 parts and labor. I was going to split the bill with him but he kind of fell on hard time and could not complete the deal. The car runs very well and i could understand that someone just want the piece of mind but as it sits condition and price any buyer can have it done if it was not done by the pervious owner before me. Car has been a problem free car from day one and its been daily driven since purchased last march. A lot more reliable then my BMW 650 i had prior to this car.
Hope that answers everyone's question about this car. Please feel free to keep the questions coming and or text/call.
Thank you.

I've read they have to split open the engine case to do this IMS repair on a 997. Is their truth to that? If so, $1500 seems very reasonable. I am in the market for a 997 and was told if I wanted to avoid potential IMS issues, I needed to look at 2009 and newer models. If $1500 is all it takes to make the potential problem go away, then I can certainly widen my aperture to older 997s (and save way more that $1500).

The car is on the market till the summer time come back around then i'll just be throwing some nice wheels back on with the GT3 front bumper again. What i realize is the 997's are holding their value in the $30k+ range given respectable milage. 996's are being sold for high $20k's+ and they are not the best looking series of the 911. Give it another 10-15 years and 997's will be valued at what 993's are being valued at these days. I have a lot of financial plans for 2014 so selling this car (of the four i own) is only the right thing to do financially. Selling it for less then $35k would be a bad financial decision, hence the reason it's still here. I do respect all offers presented and thank you for all those who gave their honest offers, i have not forgotten any of you in the event I'm bent over and have to sell.
Motor doesn't need to be dropped or opened. I did this on my past 2003 996 C2. $1500 is a bit below what it would cost at an indy. I did the LNE Retrofit IMS, RMS, plugs and AOS all at once as soon as I bought my 996. I had the work done by a superb Indy in Northern Ohio. My IMS was perfect when removed…but it made me feel better. Car is beautiful…somebody will get a super nice car…Just go to the IMS if you're worried.
Car is now listed on eBay with a NO reserve auction, highest bidder will take it !!
