The picture of the interior for some reason looks like there is wear on the carpet and mats-that is a reflection only,the mats are BRAND NEW and the carpet has no wear whatsoever...
Any imperfections in the paint are only refelctions from the flash on the camera

hmmm, best thing to do is test drive a 996 or a 997 both stock and modded form to make sure you're feelin it (unless you already did). The Zs are formidable cars on the street it has brute power and with a few bolt ons with DRs can touch the 9s in the 1/4 easy and can't do that with the 911s unless you pour tons of $$$ into it. Highly modded 911s are hard to beat on roll racing though. If i have a choice i'll pick a reliable nicely modded 996 say around 650-700 whp or a PDK equipped 997 Turbo S, just my opinion.
Driven both (or all 3 even if you count the 996TT) they are vastly different machines. I agree with swoosh on the crazy amount of money you'd need to spend to dip into 9s with a 997, however, considering you didn't mod the ZR I'd suspect it's fast enough for you.
In that case, you'd prob be happy with a flashed/exhaust 997tt- which should be about as quick as the zr, if not a touch faster off a roll
