I would consider a minimally modded car-just not looking for a monster...

love your license plate. I had a SVT Lighting with the license plate "ITS QWK" I ended up selling the truck, but kept the plates!

hmmm, best thing to do is test drive a 996 or a 997 both stock and modded form to make sure you're feelin it (unless you already did). The Zs are formidable cars on the street it has brute power and with a few bolt ons with DRs can touch the 9s in the 1/4 easy and can't do that with the 911s unless you pour tons of $$$ into it. Highly modded 911s are hard to beat on roll racing though. If i have a choice i'll pick a reliable nicely modded 996 say around 650-700 whp or a PDK equipped 997 Turbo S, just my opinion.

Driven both (or all 3 even if you count the 996TT) they are vastly different machines. I agree with swoosh on the crazy amount of money you'd need to spend to dip into 9s with a 997, however, considering you didn't mod the ZR I'd suspect it's fast enough for you.
In that case, you'd prob be happy with a flashed/exhaust 997tt- which should be about as quick as the zr, if not a touch faster off a roll
