Interested. I sent a service request to BBI for an guess on a estimate for repairs as the car has been sitting now for 8-9 years by my estimate. Complete fuel system replacement, all fluids, battery, tires, possible rebuild on the shocks sitting in compression. I also asked about a detune for 91 octane pump gas. You mentioned GT3 Cup fuel tank. Is that a bladder or foam insert in the tank? Either would required the tank to be flushed and replaced.

Given your knowledge and association with BBI it may help if you called them too. With inflation and the degree of restoration needed I believe $5K is a low estimate not including the re-tune. Knowing what the potential real cost would be would help determine any reasonable offer.

Great build with lots of thoughtful modifications. I appreciate the effort and time it took to do this. I did a similar build out on my ex-1991 e30 M3 EVO show car recreation which basically ended up as a D-Modified BMWCCA level race car with a 2.6L S-14 motor and cage built by Frank Fahey, a custom tuned DTA ecu with Ford Super Coupe injectors on the street running 100 octane low lead Aviation fuel. I was well into $90,000 invested and sold it for a song ages ago. Cars with that level of build out require lots of maintenance and replacement parts and few people understand that or are willing to bear the expense.

I hope to hear back from BBI next week. I will be down in So Cal after the 5th and maybe we can set up a visit depending on BBI's comments. Do you have recent photos of the car?

Regards,
Tad

Thank you for you interest.

I'm not too sure whether it is a bladder or foam insert tank. 100% a flush would be required. Had the same fuel time sat issue on my M3 and BMW had the flush done on that car. I've spoken to Betim at BBI regarding my car, and about what it would take to get it running. Without really getting into its hard to know exactly what it would need. An engine pull is necessary for this type of situation, but the good news is that once the engine is pulled out everything should be done as its quick to do at that point. (spark plugs, fluids, coil packs, fuel setup). On my BMW m3 which also sat when i was working overseas I spend around 4,000 at bmw to get it up and running. I'd imagine to get this 996T going it would be around 10,000.

Appreciate the kind words. I really put my time, money and soul into this build. No expense was spared at the time of the build. Off the shelf brembo was used, until i got this setup. Had replica decklid while it took me a few years to find an OEM Gt2 decklid. One of countless examples of how this build only got the best money could buy. The money/time has been invested. At this point the only thing that matters to me is that it goes to the right home. I've PMd you my number. Please text me we can coordinate a meeting and I can send you current photos of the car.

Would you consider a trade for my 2017 Corvette Z06/Z07 963 miles I would need to get 95K for my car or 100K with the new wheels and new exhaust. I would send your car to the shop you recommended to get it up to snuff. Kevin

Beautiful car! under 1000 miles is crazy. Looks pristine.

I wish I would have had this option a few days sooner; I picked up a new daily driver a few days ago. Best of luck with your sale. I'm sure you'll find a great home for it.
