For import back into the US:
- require recall clearance letter from Porsche NA
- fill out form CBP 7501 at customs
- pay 2.5% duty at customs

This is my old car and i can attest it is in perfect mechanical condition, i have some pictures of the engine out process for maintenance and coolant pipes welding.

Very tempting- its the letter from Porsche that sounds like a pain. I can't imagine their prompt about such things.

Looked at importing a California 996 from Canada and the only document needed was proof of no open recalls. Called the local Porsche dealer and they sent me a PDF from their system.

When I looked at the link, it said you needed a letter from the manufacturer. Are you saying you used a letter from a dealer?

The only thing the importer was concerned about was if there was any open recalls on the car. If the documentation came from the dealer/ Porsche and it was printed from Porsche's system, they told me it was acceptable.

The recall letter is just a print out from a Porsche dealer showing that no recalls are open on the specific vehicle. Any dealer can provide this when given the VIN#.

I do not have the OEM wheels. Original paint is in very good condition. Front bumper has stone chips. I have pics pre wrap I can send on request.

I also installed a brand new MAF this spring.

I can bring the Turbo down to Watkins Glen, NY, May 26-28 if anyone wants to see it.
