Need advice on selling my modified '03 C4S
I recently had my 996 C4S (which has been modified) listed on a popular Porsche website and only received disheartening, negative comments about the car.
People were especially harsh because it has been converted to RWD and that it has a Top Gear "Big Bore" X-Pipe citing that it was no longer a "4S" and that it wouldn't pass emissions.. blah, blah. Other mods are an aero front lip (eBay Special), silicone intake hose, H&R springs, matte black shark fin quarter panel protectors, and 19" AG Ruger Mesh wheels (Silver) - I sold the stock wheels. Is there a better avenue to sell a modified P-car without getting snubbed and bunch of comments from the peanut gallery? The car is a nice example with low miles (58k). I wasn't even trying to knock anybody's head off either... given the recent hype of the C4S. The ask was $33,996 which I didn't think was terribly aggressive. But I also don't want to fork out a bunch of cash to return it to stock. I do not have the stock wheels any longer and the previous owner converted it to RWD and the removed parts did not come with the car. I have nearly resolved myself to just keeping the car since there is no immediate need to sell. Thanks for the advice, Scott https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...9751c8ce87.jpg |
The thread was move here from the 996 Forum... This was not intended to be a "For Sale" post. Just looking for some friendly advice from people who appreciate modified cars

Car looks great. I have had good success selling a couple of heavily modified Porsche's right here, albeit a few years ago.

I'm running a consignment deal right now. I'd be happy to help you sell the car. I've moved quite a bit of modified cars and I deal with all the crazies instead of you having to. Shoot me a PM and I'll let you know the details.
Great looking car. |
Just post the Ad here? No Info On Car, Hard to give input with your opening post....

C4S is worth more than the C2 especially in the snowbelt area, you're prolly better off keeping her and enjoy

List it on Pelican - they do not allow comments so the purists & aholes have 0 ability to trash your sale. Just make sure to provide a very detailed description of condition, maintenance and also post as many pictures to support. Everyone (who has a clue) looking checks Pelican.
