Original 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo Manual in amazing condition.
I’m a long time Z32 owner and wanted to put my car on here first for a fellow Z enthusiast to have the initial opportunity before listing it on BAT and others. I’m only selling to make room for my new C7 Z06 since garage space is limited.
This car is an original Diamond Black Pearl twin turbo 5spd manual 2+0 coupe (not a conversion) and is mechanically perfect with all maintenance up to date (see below). In terms of cosmetic condition, it’s very clean inside and out and looks like a car that’s only a few years old. This car has been extremely well cared for over many years by diligent owners and is not the typical Z from this era that you’ll find for sale.
Details:
- Diamond Black Pearl paint (rare) with black leather interior in excellent condition.
- Local Bay Area car since new. Only three adult enthusiast owners since 1991.
- No accidents or prior damage. Zero rust or corrosion.
-129,000 original miles on the chassis
- Built and maintained by Z Car Garage in San Jose, which is one of the best Z shops in the country. Over $40k spent in parts, labor, and maintenance since 2003.
- New OEM shortblock, new OEM transmission, new JWT clutch, and new GT ball-bearing Turbos installed @ 115k miles by Z Car Garage. (approx. $20k total with all labor and maintenance performed)
- All major maintenance and services are up to date including timing belt and all associated parts.
- The car put down a very healthy 384whp on low boost and conservative AFR on a Dynojet. I have the dyno sheet.
- Only top quality aftermarket parts, many of which are rare and long discontinued such as the old school and period correct Volk GT-P wheels by Rays Engineering and the 99 JDM spec. front bumper.
Basic Modification Details:
(These upgrades are 100% reversible if desired but significantly add to the driving experience. This is a very basic list which doesn’t include many of the small detail items and misc. additions over many years.)
Performance:
- Z Car spec. GT Ball Bearing Turbos
- Labree full stainless steel exhaust
- JWT Intake
- JWT ECU
- JWT Clutch w/ RPS Flywheel
- Apex’i Super AFC
- Greddy Electronic Boost Controller
Exterior/Interior/Suspension:
- ‘99 Jspec front bumper
- ‘99 Jspec clear taillights
- HID retrofit headlights w/ TSX projectors
- Tinted windows
- OEM wing delete
- Z1 Motorsports tension rods
- Tokico 5 way adjustable shocks w/ Eibach Sport Springs
Wheels/Brakes:
- Stoptech Big Brake Kit
- Volk GT-P wheels by Rays Engineering with brand new tires. Very RARE and discontinued since the early 2000s. I’ve been offered $3k for these wheels and will gladly keep them if you want to negotiate on price and can provide your own wheels.
I’m located in Santa Cruz county, CA but the Z is currently stored at my house in Reno, NV due to the recent wildfire here. I can make arrangements to show the car with advanced notice. Serious prospective buyers please contact me anytime for more info. I have clean title in hand.
$22,000 OBO with everything. (includes custom car cover and a variety of misc. parts and accessories I’ve accumulated over the years.)
$19,000 OBO bring your own wheels, no extra parts or accessories.
I won’t part anything out and I’m in no rush to sell. This is the only original 300ZX turbo manual in this spec and condition, with perfect history, for sale anywhere.
did something catastrophic happen to require the engine and trans being replaced at the same time?
was the engine harness replaced?
it sounds like the oem wheels aren’t available correct?
thanks,
james
No there wasn’t a catastrophic failure, the trans had a slight grind and compression wasn’t perfect after 26yrs and 120k miles so the car was completely overhauled when the turbos needed to be replaced and the engine was already out. The previous owner was a fanatic about this car and owned it since the late 90s... he wanted it like new again. The engine harness didn’t need to be replaced as far as I know and the OEM wheels aren’t available but are inexpensive and easy to find.
The car is currently registered in NV as a ‘Classic Rod’ and is smog exempt here, but it was previously registered in CA for many years while modified so it’s definitely possible. It would just be the responsibility of the CA buyer.
