Actually there was a supreme court ruling allowing this and it is not "Price Fixing". It is protecting product and price integrity. In this industry, we call it Minimum Advertised Price, or MAP. This weeds out the bedroom internet shops that end up taking your money and not delivering. This allows companies to stay in business. Also don't understand your analogy to taking a 50% pay cut? Why can't an authorized retailer choose what margin it wants to make on a product without the manufacturer dictating it? This is America man- free markets.
