Price drop to $725, firm, + shipping.

Not much to say about it - its a genuine factory rollbar, probably not much good or acceptable as a race roll bar, but it looks cool. If it doesn't sell locally, I will consider shipping. I am located near Saratoga Springs, NY.

Forgot to mention, but seat belts are not included.

I do have a pair of used Brey-Krause seat back supports that go from bar to rear of seat. Also have at least one pair of new but expired (FIA) 5-point harnesses that could be sold separately or as a package with roll bar.

 

Would you happen to know if Porsche sells those stickers on the sides of the roll bars? The reason I ask is because I'd want to paint my roll bar yellow and keep those stickers.

 

1) Check with a dealer.
2) Check Tequipment catalog. Porsche website has free parts catalogs for downloading. They are spelled Katalog.
3) Its not likely that you can get a replacement for a sticker with a serial number on it. Why don't you carefully remove before painting and reattach. A body shop should be able to do it very well.
4) or, remove it as carefully as possible, scan it and have one made at a printing shop. I imagine that, since you own the bar and are not trying to put the sticker on a fake bar, you should be able to duplicate the sticker legally.

is it hard to install? I'm about 1.5 hrs north of you. will it fit in the car uninstalled?

 

My original sale fell through so its on the market again. But, I really don't want to drive anywhere. I only have weekends, and, I just have too much to do. If you're still interested and can make some other arrangements for pickup other than meeting half way, let me know.

will this fit in a 997TT with rear seats? I have the factory sport hard back seats (manual with the power reclining feature).

Interesting. Who welded the cross bar onto the Tequipment bar? This Tequipment bar shown (996.580.980.00) is the "Pan Americana" Teq bar that did not come with a cross bar.

Someone must have welded the bar onto it. The factory Teq bar that came with the harness bar had a diagonal cross brace and a part number 996.580.981.00

 

Yes, it will fit, but, shipping is no longer an option, either now or in the future. I just can't do the work myself and, since I don't have accounts with any shippers it would be outrageously expensive. Unless you know someone in the area who could package and ship it for you, shipping just won't work for me.

 

If you're still interested, I will consider shipping. Apparently, I can just wrap it up and ship by FedEx. My home zip code is 12831. Its possible that I could ship from a business in zip code 12801. I would estimate a 50-lb irregular package, if you want to check with FedEx.

If there's no serious interest, I may end up putting it in my own car this weekend. The seats are already out so that I could collect all the change under the seats.

 

I'm serious. If no one buys it, I am going to put it in my car and then if you want it you'll have to take it out yourself. $725 cash picked up at my place near Saratoga Springs and Fortsville, NY. It has a professionally welded harness bar - the welds and fit are at least as good as the Werks' work.
