For Sale: Two Tial BOV's retail each is $257 or so. I will do both for $380.

 

These are authentic Tial 50mm BOV not replicas as ebay is flooded with.

 

Were these installed on a porsche turbo? Someone told me that BOVs don't work on 911 turbos because they are set up in a different way. I'm no technical expert, so I don't know about these things

Yes they were used on a 996TT. It all depends on your set up. The factory set up comes with what's called diverter valves . If one ever retunes to say a mafless/ or ford Maf then BOV's are used either on the ypipe or right on the intercoolers.
Its purpose is to prevent compressor surge, and reduce wear on the turbocharger and engine. Blowoff valves relieve the damaging effects of compressor "surge loading" by allowing the compressed air to vent to the atmosphere, making a distinct hissing sound, or recirculate into the intake upstream of the compressor inlet.
