Am curious - in the BMW world, the off brand INPA/KCAN network cable plus some shady software actually works wonders as long as you're willing to put in the effort to set it up, and tends to cost way less than a BavTech setup. Anything similar for P-cars?

What's the difference with the off brand one? Does it work the same way, or is it a glorified OBD-II cable that does not do much?

Not sure. I was able make a generic brand one work with my bmw.

The durametric software is pretty valuable though as far as logging etc. I think I remember finding somewhere that the newer durametric softwares are smart enough to rule out the generic ones.

It's a small cost to be sure.

Oh yeah agree. Their BMW tool, BavTech, is excellent - but its functionality is kludgingly replicated by the BMW EDIABAS tools (funny because those are the OEM ones ... and they're broken as hell). Was wondering if it was something similar here. I guess I'll look for official.
