Intercooler Inlet Scoops for reduced IATs
Intercooler Inlet Scoops for reduced IATs
I recently had a set of intercooler inlets made by Manthey Racing in Germany. I don't get impressed very easily but these inlets are extremelly nice. The inlet lip is fully formed and blends in perfectly with the existing inlets. Aesthetically they hit it out of the ballpark fitting in perfectly with the lines of the car. I did a quick test fit on the car and the fit and finish is nearly perfect with very minor sanding required before these get submitted the the shop for painting body color. The inlets are made out of 100% carbon fiber and are light as a feather at 4 oz each. Attachment will be via 3M double sided tape. Manthey has tested these in their wind tunnel and achieved a speed dependent 5-10ºC (9-18F) reduction in IATs with these inlets. This is a significant reduction. I will be installing these in the offseason.
With that said, I have brand new pair of Joe Toth inlets that I won't need since the Mantheys arrived. If anyone wants to grab these from me, let me know. I'd let the Joe Toth inlets go for $275 plus shipping. New they are $400. These inlets also provide significant IAT reduction benefits as verified by several members that are using them.

It's a bit of a pain to get these. Manthey does not stock these and produces them once an order is placed. As such it's about a 4 week lead-time. Due to some bizarre company policy, Manthey will not under any circumstance ship to the US, only the EU. As such, you will need to pay the 19% VAT and have them shipped to an address in the EU. Someone will then need to ship them to you to the US.
