~~~~~~~~~Original Post Below~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Selling my corner balance scales, including leveling pads and hub stands. I bought all items new in 2014 and employed them throughout my various 996TT suspension upgrades. I've used them a handful of times over the last three years -- most recently last week, confirming all is in good working order.
I found the scales to be a critical part of making the most of coilovers. Changing ride height should be followed by a corner balance. In my experience, the OEM settings (on the US spec 996TT) didn't have enough rake angle, which led to instability at high speed (probably because the TT radiators vent under the car whereas the GT2 vents over the car, generating more front down force). One of the big benefits (not discussed often) of coilovers is the ability to increase rake angle, which, of course is a change in ride height that should be followed by a subsequent corner balance.
Hub stands make ride height changes, corner balancing and general alignment much easier. They get the tires out of the way so that adjustments are much less time consuming. They also eliminate the need to settle the suspension by rolling on and off of the stands. The stands have (lockable) roller bearings on them that allow the car to settle while on the stands. Another advantage is that caster can be adjusted without the need for grease plates (which often cost as much as the hub stands themselves).
Tanner Racing Products by Mittler Bros Machine & Tool
50250 Standard 15" Pads (1,750 lbs per pad capacity)
Purchased from Jegs (because they included shipping in their price) for about $1,025.
Leveling pads...
Purchased from a vendor on ebay for about $250. These are very similar to Intercomp branded versions that sell for nearly twice as much. Unless you have access to a perfectly flat floor, you'll need levelers to do an accurate corner balance.
Accu-lign hub stands...
Purchased directly from Mittler Bros for about $800 delivered.
3 bolt patterns: 5x130 Porsche, 5x120 Corvette & 5x114 Honda
I spent about $2,075 on these items when new. I'll let them go $1750. Prefer to sell in the Midwest -- I'll deliver to a reasonable distance from Omaha or Kansas City. I'll ship if necessary, at buyer's expense, which I'd expect is between $100 and $150 (these things are heavy -- built like tanks).
