997.1 Custom tail / rear spoiler
For sale is a rare, custom tail / rear spoiler for a 997.1. It may fit on a 997.2, but I have no way of confirming this. It's a beauty, but I've decided that I prefer the esthetic of the stock spoiler. The tail was purchased in 2010 by the previous owner of my 911 from a company in Florida called either Fiberwerx or Firberworx (it's made of fiberglass). I'm told they no longer sell parts, they only do custom body work. The PO believes there were only a dozen or so of these ever made. As you can see it's reminiscent of a 993 tail (the most attractive tail ever made IMHO). It's a snap to install, fitment on my car was perfect. I'll ship anywhere in the CONUS.

That's a beauty. GLWS.

How does it install? Does is simply replace the current piece that raises and lowers or do the hydraulics need to be disabled so this remains fixed?

If you are talking hydraulics, then you are probably speaking of mounting on a turbo, which I don't think would work because this spoiler doesn't appear to replace the entire decklid. If you mean the electric actuators on the C2, then it looks like the actuators may continue to raise and lower inside the whale tail. Perhaps you are asking about the cabriolet hydraulics? Anyway, unless you have a cab or a turbo, you don't have hydraulic pumps under the hood.

VA997, thank you for clarifying. Referring to 997.1S I had read references to the mechanism as hydraulic w/o mention of the specific model but I understand more clearly now.
