As promised, here are my thoughts and a couple of pictures after my drive this week. The performance is reaaly incredible for a car this big. It isn't a sports car (or even whatever you call the segment that an M5 fits in), but for a luxury cruiser this thing is unreal. I expected to be impressed with the "go", and I was, although in a very refined way. It is smooth power, and even under acceleration the gear shifts up and down were hard to feel (but easier to hear-great exhaust note). What I wasn't expecting was the "stop"-for a car this heavy it stops quickly and the brakes felt firm. It also had a pretty firm feel to the suspension-very little body roll on cornering. But like I said, it is no sports car., but for a GT the performance was great.

A couple more pictures

What I didn't like were the exterior color combinations. Lots of variations of metalic silver and black (the one I drove was metalic black, which always looks like root beer to me). Only one blue, which I wasn't wild about. There are some new colors coming, I am told, including a Ferrari red (that isn't the formal name, but is the actual color). They had a sample on a 6-inch disk, so i took it out to the forecourt and held it against a red 360 parked there and it looked identical to me.

But where the styling really shines is the interior.

Now that is what the driver of a GT should see! That is a Breitling analog clock in the center of the dash (nice touch).

A final note on the rear seat. It is useable, but not roomy.

I like it a lot....the front end looks awesome in person. The rear takes a little getting used to, but overall a great GT.....

Bentley GT availability

"i was offered 2 at window 2 months ago, but the rear seat is useless. no reason to pay over, ignore the hype. probaly be under soon like everything else 150+; so many cars, same number of buyers

Watt, who offered you two of these two months ago. That would have been April seeing when you made this remark. The very first Bentley GT DEMO car arrived in May in the US. The very first car delivered to a customer was in May. Were those gray market cars you were referring to? Right now BH Bentley and Newport Auto Center are quoting a 200-people waiting list. Why would any dealer offer it to somebody not on the list for "window" when the market is $35000 to $50000 over for the moment?

Interesting...

They actually look pretty cool in person, and the interior is spectacular...BUT..it would probably be like my CL55 was. 6 months later and it was throughly boring (though pretty fast)
