Best Full Exhaust System and A Custom Tune.... Thinking Milltek and AMD Tuning
I am trying to decide which exhaust system to go for, immediately following will be a full custom tune.
I find the sound and acceleration of the stock car to be quite bland so I am looking to give it a manly rumble and roar (the car is extremely well insulated), along with a significant performance boost.
The company near me in London that specialises in custom tunes is the distributor of Milltek.
Here is the website: http://www.amdessex.com/news.read.cfm?articleid=105
The system I am considering is as follows:
"The new performance exhaust system is made from the finest quality 14-16 gauge T304 stainless steel and features TIG-welded joints, C.N.C. mandrel bending and offers a weight saving of around 50% over the OEM system.
It will be available in three different configurations:
1.Downpipes with secondary catalyst bypass pipes which replace the heavy secondary catalysts, greatly improve gas flow, speed up turbo spool-up, release extra power and sharpens responsiveness of the throttle.
£1212 INC FITTING AND VAT. £1712 INC REMAP.
2.Free-flow rear silencers which can be fitted to either the OE centre sections or the Milltek pipes as mentioned above.
£1434 INC FITTING AND VAT. £1934 INC REMAP.
3.Full system - both of the options listed above fitted together.
All options use the OE tailpipe trims for the ultimate stealth upgrade."
I am looking at purchasing the full system (Option 3) along with a custom tune.
May I ask:
- Has anyone put a Milltek exhaust system on their GT?
- Does Milltek have a good reputation?
- Will Option 3 provide the aggresive Non-Oem sound I am looking for or will it drone me to death?
- At Around $4k USD (exc tune) are there better systems out there?
Thanks for the help!

To be fair Farris, your post sounded very advertorial. Besides, forget the exhausts and just get the system GIAC-tuned if you want real power increases.
As for droning, leave the stock system on as those louder exhausts will surely get annoying over long distances UNLESS they include a 'flap' in the exhaust that is coordinated with the engine RPM.
Just 'freeing up' the backpressure is not an end-all be-all. Been there with a Ferrari, done that, read the book, saw the movie... total waste of time imho on public roads. Worse still, the louder exhaust note was very tiresome for public roads during 30 minute+ drives on the highway. Sure it sounded nice on the track, yet odds are you don't plan the Bentley to be a dedicated track car and as such always rowing through the gears.
So, if that fancy exhaust does not have a flap to quiet the exhaust note until, say 3k rpm on upwards, i wish you the best. The power gain from exhaust alone will be virtually undetectable during normal driving on public roads.
If you want more power, am sure you realize you are going about it the wrong way. Have GIAC or some other professional flash the car's computers. It remaps things including the turbo boost. Louder cars do not equal more power. Look at LeMans and the Audi winning race cars for example of quiet yet race winning formula.
PS: Audi is part of the VW Group... as is Bentley

To the OP, we offer an exhaust for your application that improves power significantly. We also have an ECU upgrade that can be done to extract even more power from the car.
please take a look here: http://www.fabspeed.com/Bentley.html
and let me know if you have any questions!

I am VERY happy with the Milltek system.
This is how the car should have sounded out of the factory, not too loud but just right!
I will post some install pics when I get the photos of my iphone.
