Water in Fuse Box (due to blocked water drain hole)
I took this from the bentley pdf file. Has anybody inspected this area? I am not sure where to find it?
"A very expensive repair and unfortunately, quite common issue with the GTs.
Check the fuse box under the passenger-side bulkhead make sure lid is secure and also check there is no water under there. Usual symptom is like having a flat battery. The scuttle floods and that in turn causes a short circuit and damages the wiring loom. Seemingly as this is a known problem, Bentley mechanics have designed a 'splicing kit' (whatever that may be!) to stop this happening.
The problem relates to a water drain hole not being blown out with an airline at service time. The remedy is to keep the water drain cleared, yet its position is above the gearbox and awkward to get to and see.
Check on a regular basis that there is no water ingress in to the area, by looking under the black plastic cover on the passenger side. When this area is open, if there is water in this area, suck it out with a wet&dry vacuum and regularly spray water repellant into this area to protect the wiring and ECUs that are located here.
Do not be tempted to drill a hole in the bottom, as it will only let the water seep in to the passenger foot well. Keep the lic secure and check frequently for water ingress."
