That seems high, but as you say, "mostly city driving". On a 2500 mile road trip on my 05 CGT, I averaged 13.7 liters per 100 km. The best number I see is about 11.3 on open highway at about 120 kms per hour. I try not to look at the city numbers

I measure in miles not Km and don't know how to convert your numbers. I can get as low as 11mpg and as high as 20mpg. I have averaged 15mpg over 20k miles. Oh BTW tires go faster at 11mpg.

Here's a site that will convert mpg to liters per 100 kms. :

Thanks that's a nice link. I was afraid I was going to have to do some arithmetic.

I also try to avoid looking at the numbers in the city, or when tire sliding the mountain roads. I don't recall ever seeing 22mpg but I rarely cruise for very long on the open highway with out gassing up to a hundred or so.

I was a bit optimistic in my original statement of 12.7 liters per 100 kms trip average. I just checked my log file and see 13.7 was the recorded average. That's a change from 22+ mpg to 17+ mpg average (substantial difference in mpg). I have corrected my original statement but feel the need to explain the error and apologize.
Our trip was almost exclusively highway. All in all, I was very pleased with the average as it was our first trip and I expected much worse. . What also pleased us was how much cheaper US fuel prices were compared to our Canadian costs (even adjusting for the differences in gallon measurements).

I agree with PMS that these cars can get pretty good milage if driven smoothly and for some distance. I have actually been to Nashville a few times and give purpose to smooth easy throttle to see how good I can do. 19-20 mpg is easy but I do have some areas of elevation that hurt the numbers.

On the other hand I sometimes go out "sport driving" and have tired to burn the most gas per mile to see how poor it gets. I have done a hundred miles averaging 11 mpg. Heck it's my $ I can burn it any way I want to.

BTW should I dare ask about the name PMS?

Better than thinking you were just a hateful *****.

In return I will say that my screen name comes form the fact that sometimes I feel everything I touch turns to chit. I do quite a bit of deer and turkey hunting and disaster seems to be my fate.

Mine is even worse. I avg about 23L/100KM combined and 27L/100km in city.

My range of a full tank of gas is about 420km.

Try using a gun instead of knocking over your prey at high speed

Ok so I had some time for conversion calculations for the original post below
Total miles driven 274 = (converted from 442KM)
Total gas uses 22 gallons = (converted from 84.864 liters = 19.2 liters * (442/100))
Average mpg = (274/22) = 12.45 mpg.

Thats about what I get for mostly city driving if I am not to heavy on the gas pedal and limited stop and go traffic.

That sounds very average for that kind of driving.

Ken you have no idea about how i actually look for deer especially when the rut is on in the fall. My wife had to come to complete stop to avoid hitting one in her knew audi A7 the other day.
