Dealer 10-year service $4600
I got a quote from my local dealer to do the 10-year service. The price is $4600 for these items:
Is this a fair price?
- ENGINE OIL AND FILTER
- REMOTE BATTERIES
- WIPER BLADES
- POLLEN FILTERS
- BRAKE FLUID
- LEAK DET. PUMP FILTER
- FUEL FILTER
- SECONDARY AIR INJECTION FILTERS
- ENGINE DRIVE BELT
- EMISSIONS CARBON CANISTER
Is this a fair price?

Price sounds at least 2x than I would expect.
Are these items even in the srvice book? Some items seem unnecessary
Have trans fluid, plugs been changed? I always follow the prescribed service interval instead of dealer recommendations.
Shop around and maybe go to an exotic indept shop

How many Kilometers on your car? Are you having any problems filling the fuel tank? (i.e. does the pump shut off frequently when you're trying to fill?) I am questioning the need to replace the EVAP canister. Wiper blades are expensive on these puppies. Don't avoid the drive belt. It is not that expensive and any competent mechanic can replace it without removing anything. It's a tight squeeze and a knuckle scraper, but it can be done. Plugs are expensive to replace because the plenums have to come off the top of the engine. The fuel filter takes 5 minutes to replace as it is easily accessible. "remote" batteries (whatever that means) I don't understand. Are we talking "house" battery (AGM) or starter battery (lead acid)? If so, VW has the correct batteries for a LOT less than the OEM Bentley dealer. Oil and filter change is around $250.00
Bottom Line: The quoted price seems high for the list you provided.
