aftermarket tires and rims tire pressure sensor

hey guys

if I put on aftermarket wheels on my car, do I have to move over the TPMS from the factory wheels?

and if I don't will the car make an annoying beeping sound? and if so how bad is it?

im just looking to put on aftmarket some wheels for the winter season and I don't want to keep taking the rubber off to swap out the tpms every season

thanks

You can purchase another set of sensors for the other wheels.

For my Spur I switch between 22's for the summer and factory 20's for the winter, I just deactivated the monitoring system in the car by removing the fuse and programming it out. Just check the pressure every now and then.

Yes it will beep so just move them over or, better still imho, CLONE the stock TPMS sensors so you have new ones in there. You can defeat the beep with a fuse removal as well, yet that compromises the TPMS safety system.

Okay I'm going to buy new sensors

What kind did you buy? The ones on there are from Audi .. If I buy oem my mechanic (not bentley) said he's not sure he can program it so he says to buy aftermarket

Can u confirm that it can be programmed without going to dealer?

Thanks
