Normal Acceleration/Power? 09 Flying Spur

Hi all:

I just got a 2009 flying spur (the base model; NOT the SPEED version) and am not sure if it's performance is normal or not. Can you help?

I've looked up the 0-60mph times for the 09 (base model) from various sources and have seen numbers between 4.9sec-5.5sec. I understand that the SPEED version yields numbers lower at about 4.5sec.

Tell me if this is normal:
If i "floor it" from a stand still (with or without brake torquing), the thing feels like a ROCKET. It pushes me back in the seat and it FEELS like a 4.3sec car from 0mph-30mph. However after a few seconds, the acceleration seems to dwindle and from about 30mph-80mph it honestly feels like i'm in a 4cyl Camry.

If i am driving at a constant speed at around 60mph and "floor it" (simulating passing) the power is underwhelming. Just feels like a 4cyl Camry.

But if i were to "floor it" from 80mph-195mph, it accelerates better than any other normal car but it's not impressive.

Does this description sound normal? I'm confused as to why (or HOW) the engine can ROCKET this 5,500lb car from 0-30mph so quickly, yet feel like a Camry from 30-60mph. I think the 4.9sec 0-60 time must be an average of the ROCKETness from 0-30 plus the sluggishness from 30-60mph.

I have a 4.3L V8 Lexus and the effect is the opposite; from 0-30mph it's sluggish, yet once i hit 30+mph i feel the surge and push back in my seat. Why is my Bentley doing the opposite?

Any thoughts? Thanks

Chris
