Driver's side lower A/C blower replacement - 2005 Flying Spur

Hi Guys!
Driver's side lower A/C blower stopped working on my 2005 Flying Spur recently. It doesn't blow any air into the foot compartment and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know what is the replacement procedure?
Thanks,
Tadas

Hello Tadas,

The vehicle only has one blower motor for the HVAC system, it is one motor with two squirrel cages attached to it, both are locked on the same shaft and spin at the same speed, I tell you this because by what you have stated, that you have lost airflow on your drivers side, IF you do in fact have air blowing from other ducts then it is not your blower motor, but a air door flap issue.

Hello Johnny,

Many thanks for the information. How difficult is to access that flap and its control motor? Is it accessible from the footwell or it is a dash-out work?

Thanks,
Tadas

UPDATE:
Local VW service managed to replace the control motor of the air door flap without removing the dash board.

The control motor is a VW part.

That's GREAT news! Yes, your local VW dealer can fix many things within the Bentley as the car is based on the VW Phaeton.

Hello @mar ,
Yes, the blower motor is available.

Bentley part number 3D0959101.

The OEM from Bentley/Scuderia will run you $600 plus.

An aftermarket unit from $285.

The Phaeton unit of the same part number from $300.

The Audi A8L unit with part number 4E0 959 101 from $125 for aftermarket, or $200ish from the Audi dealership.
The issue with the Audi versus Bentley units is, that the Bentley has male pins on the wiring plug, whereas the Audi has female sockets, so, depending on you choice of saving some money and making the connection of the two wires, versus plug and play.
