Passenger rear window won't roll up- cracking noise
Car is a 2005 GT coupe
The other day I went to roll up my windows as I parked my car and as the right rear window was going up, after about halfway, there was a loud cracking sound almost identical to glass shattering and it stopped rolling up (the window itself was intact). I tried rolling it up again but at this point it would only go down. The window itself is still intact but I'm not sure what happened underneath where the motor is since it's impossible to see down there without taking the car apart. I finally got the window to roll completely down after fidgeting with it but now it's just stuck in the down position. Anyone have any ideas or experienced something similar? |
Needs repair, system broke. Not too common, yet happens.

It's the winder mechanism. The cables break and the plastic pulleys bend and become u/s.
Had it on my drivers window just as I was setting off home on a 550 mile drive, window down, not a happy bunny. |

This is what you need, I have both left and right for the rear from an 05, Just an FYI, 04-05 share the same motor mounting, but in 06 the mount changed, so if you purchase a unit from an 06 or newer your window motor will not line up with the mounting holes, ask me how I know....
