Drive shaft help

If you are referring to the front CV drive axles, usually the boots are torn and the articulating joints are good. Should this be the case one can rebuild the CV axles and get replacement boot kits with clamps and CV grease.

Be warned, there are some vendors selling replacement CV axles that are actually for Audi. The diameter of these shafts is smaller than the Bentley. These axle shafts will fit but I would not recommend using a smaller diameter shaft on a Bentley.

To answer the question, more than likely the Phaetom front drive axles will fit, never bought one, rebuilt mine. Make sure the axle shaft diameter is the same as on the Bentley. Should you decide to go the route of rebuilding your unit, it is a lot less expensive.

Thanks for reply. My boots are ok, i have vibration problem around 80-90 mph. Garage told it's cv shafts that need to be replaced.
Where can i get them rebuild, i wish cheaper option.

Thanks

One can find used CV drive axles on eBay for the Bentley. Assuming the articulating joint is good on the unit, the boots somewhat easy to fix. Sometimes buying this type of used item is a gamble. I've seen used Drive axles for $150 on eBay. Press the seller to verify that they do indeed have good articulating joints.

The likely reason the front drive shafts are vibrating is because the articulating joints have failed. Unfortunately if you have a mechanic working on your car some of my recommendations really don't apply. When doing this job for yourself there are ways to work around the money aspect.

I would highly recommend asking your mechanic to lift the car up and grab the axle shafts and see if they are wigglee. The axle shaft should not move at all when twisting or pushing up and down on them by hand.

My mechanic do what ever i say. He put his hand on drive shaft and pushed up and down. They were even making clicking noise. They are loose. Does this mean that articulating joints are bad.

Regrettably, they are worn beyond useful serviceability.
