Bentley GT 22” wheels question
Hey guys got a quick question about wheel offset! Ive got a 2005 Bentley Continental GT. im about to buy some 22” wheels for it but not sure what offset I need. The car has been lowered a lot can an anyone help advise what offset I need to avoid and scrubbing issues. The wheels are 22x9 front and 22x10.5 rears I want the car to sit about this low without any scrubbing issues so if anyone can help out would be great. Im running 21x9 front and 21x10.5 rear on an et 25 with airlinks lowered approx 50mm. And they sit well. Although im getting custom built coilover/bag struts built to run lower. |

Wheels are an 'art'
I just put some Asanti 22" wheels on my 2007. The challenge with aftermarket wheels is concavity. You have to be careful about the caliper clearance. If you look at the back of your stock wheels you will see that they are what I call 'deep dish.' So be very careful about fitment with wheels that have 'straight' spokes on an angle.
The second challenge is the overall diameter of the wheels. The best site I have found to do all the comparisons is wheel-size.com. You can input your stock fitment and then run variations with new wheels. it will give you all the info you need. The other challenge is finding tires. In order to keep the same overall wheel diameter and fender height clearance you need 25 profile tires. There are damn few manufacturers who do 25 profile wheels. I put Lionharts on mine initially and they were so poor in uniformity that they were not balanceable with Road Force. Shook the steering wheel badly at 50 mph. I ended up using 30 profile Continental Contact's that are 10mm narrower as a compromise. That still made the overall diameter (radius 9mm) larger. So be careful if you do this as you are lowering the car and may have to go to higher tires. Not a good combination. Fitment on a Bentley is a real 'art form.' Read RPIA. LOL Either work closely with the wheel manufacturer and/or someone who had a lot of experience fitting up Bentley's. You might want to consider going with 21's instead - much the same look but few problems. In retrospect I would do that on mine if I were making the decision today. 21's are used on some of the newer GT's. |

Ironic you should say that. I hit a pot hole with the Asanti's last week. Could not avoid it in traffic at 60 mph. Bent the rim and $270 to fix (vs $550 new) and that was with 30 profile tires. Can't imagine how much worse it would be with 25 profile tires which are like rubber bands. :( And I carry 48# on the fronts as per spec for my car.
