Anyone ever do motor mounts on Bentley FS Gt speed?
im getting vibrations I’ve done a ton of work on the suspension to no avail. VAG is not picking up any motor mount codes. I’m getting vibration at 2000rpms driving or in park vibrations in the middle of car? I can feel it in my gear shifter. What are the symtoms of a bad motor mount? |

Being you have a 2010 FS, you engine mounts are not active afaik, as in no electrical plug/wiring, so no codes for bad engine mount as one would have in a 2004-07ish GT/FS, the 2006 FS I believe had the active engine mounts, but on a late 07 W12 engine I recently broke down they were the non active mounts, also the same on an 08 engine I broke down, and the 2014 engine and trans I am working on also have the non active mounts, one thing to look for at the mounts is a brown goo leaking out of them, or if you have the hood up and put it in forward gear with your foot firmly on the brake and slowly apply throttle and watch to see if the engine lifts a good amount, you would do the same in reverse gear, also don't forget to check the 2 transmission mounts at the rear of the trans, 1 on each side. Being you state that the vibration is the even in park, that rules out all suspension, axles, cv joints, etc., any transmission codes, trans service ? . |
This is what a Bentley dealership did to try and hide the vibration in a 2014 with 4000 miles on it, wrapped the trans with plates and black goo, vibration persisted so new trans installed, still there, then new complete engine installed, still there, the story from the service rep I spoke with while researching the items I had purchased shown in my rebuild thread was that it ended up being something mount wise or with the body of the vehicle, when I pressed further for answers, the nice attitude quickly went to "what are you doing with these Bentley items" he said "they were to be destroyed", and he didn't like the fact there were sold at auction.
So, sorry I don't have the complete answer. .https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...59eaaa893e.jpg |
Johnny hotspur GT it’s amazing that there is no sensor on a new 2010 Bentley and the 06 has a plug sensor on it. It almost feels like a drive shaft rattle on acceleration? I wonder what could it be? I thought maybe a loose exhaust system? Thanks for your feedback |

Do you have any ideas for me? |

Update Vibration Issue Solved!
I needed 2 motor mounts and 2 transmission mounts to stop my car from vibrating on acceleration. Now my car is running perfectly smooth on acceleration the
cost, $1471 parts $1180 labor, express shipping $110, tax $77.98, $3.25 hazmat, total $2843.16. I want to thank everyone for your input and suggestions. Also The motor mounts on the 07 and above will not give you any warning light or fluid leak so the visual test will not help you. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...3d78bb13a.jpeg Old mounts. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...39b803d80.jpeg New mounts on left old on right look at the height difference all rubber inside smashed. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...67d0ef32a.jpeg Left new transmission mount right old transmission mount. |
The procedure for this job would have been a good write-up. Perhaps we can bribe the mechanic with a pizza. 🤔

I believe he had to remove the exhaust system and the heat shields above them to get to transmission mounts. The engine mounts are in front of the control arm on subframe I believe.
