2005 Bentley No power to vehicle. Only starting battery.

Good morning. I have a 2005 Bentley GT that had been sitting for 3 few months. Went to start the vehicle and just turn over. No power to the car except the starting. When I turn the key on the car just cranks and wont fire due to no power through out the vehicle. I can not get the trunk open. I open the ski pocket and trigger the green handle, but the trunk would not open. I also had a Bentley Tender on the vehicle and it stop working. So I cut the cable going to the LH Battery and tried to power (jump) the LH Battery that show 1-2% Votage but no luck. I open the hood and remove the left side breather to access the battery point and tried to jump the LH Battery, at this point with no luck. Is there any other options available to me at this point to get the trunk open. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks.

A past post suggested taking the plastic engine undershield off. Then connect 12 volts directly to the alternator + & ground to the chassis.

I've tried that. No luck.

Fast charge before jumping

Watch out I’m only a rookie owner but after two weeks I had the same, unfortuneatly the trunk lever needs power so I go straight for the positive terminal you found on firewall but you need a proper battery charger to it on a fast charge for a good twenty minutes ideally longer. Then I would switch charger to boost and turn the key to start car and open trunk on door switch. It works for me every time I just think you have a super flat battery that needs a decent charge before it’s turn key.

That's a good suggestion. One could also take a fully charged 12 volt battery to use as a jumper and hook it to the bulkhead connection behind the airbox and possibly get enough voltage to open the trunk.

Yes I agree the battery in the trunk is completely dead and possibly shorted out internally. That would explain why the battery tender was no longer functioning properly. There is of course other possibilities. Opening the trunk is first priority, of course.

Hello ... On your 2005 Bentley there is a lever to relise the boot behind the rear seat, OSR, you will have to remove the rear seat to gain access. Can you get into the car ...

Thanks Guys. I tried to used my jumper pack. but the battery was completely dead. So I used my full size battery charger and it came to life. Battery is dead and I will replace it. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

P.S. my next project is to replace the passengers side window regulator.

Any suggestions. :)

If the cable is broken that can be bought as a separate part for a lot less money than the regulator unit.
