Trunk Not Opening/Closing

This just started today.

Activating any of the open functions causez the trunk to unlock but not raise. Pressing the trunk close button does nothing.

Fuse? System reboot?

Thanks for any insights!

Are the rest of the lights and doors working properly and the battery has been on a tender?

Car is driven daily. Everything else appears to be working normally.

Which/what trunk (close) button are you referencing? Is there a trunk close button on the right under-side / inside the trunk lid labeled "BOOT"? I don't believe the trunk button on the driver's door will power-close the trunk lid. My question pertains to the trunk lid having a power open/close feature or not? So do, some don't (it was an option, at least in the earlier models). Did yours' at one time power open/close and has the power open/close feature since become dysfunctional?

I'll add: My 2006 GT is equipped with the power trunk (boot) feature. It didn't function when I first bought the vehicle... but I babied it a few times to "help it" and since then it's worked as it should. My method was having the key in my pocket, and pressing the "B" on the trunk lid to release the latch, then I promptly & gently helped it up. Once powered up on it's own with a little help from me, it closed fine with the "BOOT" close button inside the trunk lid. I had to cycle it a few times to get it freed-up and working properly. It seems that if it isn't first power cycled up, it won't power cycle down.

2009

Trunk has begun operating normally.

The manual does describe a procedure to reinitialize the boot, but that wasn't required.

Would be interested to know what caused the issue though.

I suspect the cause was forcefully opening it by hand... over-riding the power open feature.

I have an 04GT and an 06GT... the '04 doesn't have the power trunk but the '06 does... I usually drive the '06 and my better-half usually drives the '04 (without the power trunk)… however, commonly after my better-half returns from a shopping trip in the '06, I'll have to re-initialize it's power trunk... I usually explain... she typically replies: Oh, that's right, I forgot.

Now that is working, it still only opens about 3/4 open. I can raise it further to fully open it.

Is this norma?
