Well, that all sounds good, but it is the exact same specifications as my screen that I purchased in November of 2000. So nothing has been upgraded in a year and a half. With that said, I would still buy the same screen again. (I paid $1,273 for mine including fast shipping to Sweden.)

Apple Carplay and Android Auto is always free, as far as I know.

I received a free rear view camera as well, but it was a 1 x 1 inch (2,5 x 2,5 cm) ugly square, so we ended up not installing it. Perhaps ask the seller for pictures of the camera, and if it's not to your liking, I'm sure they have others to choose from.

Sorry to go a bit off topic. I know that the interface on the original headunits on the MK1 Conti GT's are pretty poor but just love the look of the actual head unit, buttons and dial in the car. Just wondered if anyone has tried the NVC system? Are there any other similar alternatives?

For the price, I'm tempted to give it a go just to retain the OEM look in the car but modern touchscreen interface with Android Auto / CarPlay. (I'd hide the switch button to somewhere discrete but easily accessible).

I used the line outputs from the head unit. I ran wires to the amplifier in the boot and connected them to the amplifier outputs for the rear speakers (had to cut the wires from the amp). This then also disconnects the amp output for the rear parking sensor so, so I fitted an extra small speaker in the rear and connected that to the amp.

Cool unit. Where can one find those in the UK?

Hi, I was considering doing the same thing as in that video. To do it, in addition to finding a specialist, you have to take into account that it is an adhesive that is placed above the screen. The idea is great but finally I decided not to do it because they told me that with the heat, cleaning... it ends up taking off and causing problems.
Finally I kept the original aesthetics but without a touch screen, with a joystick hidden in the ashtray.

Apologies for the late reply, this place seem to stock them but unsure which brand it is (by the looks and the installation procedure, looks the same as the NVC system). Might contact NVC directly to see if they can ship it directly from Korea, looks quite tricky to do and you only have one time apply/overlay the touchscreen onto the original screen.

I could live with using a hidden discreet joystick, I'm assuming it's connected to the unit via USB? Where did you get the system from, if you don't mind me asking?

Look the video and If you want maybe They can answer your questions because I only paid, I know nothing about the system and how They do It.

Look in Google for Instalaciones Galetti Aguadulce. They are very profesionals.

I found this option for the Porsche Cayenne. It looks very interesting, have any of you installed one of these, I especially like that it changes the look of the center console and is more powerful than Tesla. Please share your experience on what to check before buying.
Also found some video on YouTube.

Hi

I have searched for the NVC unit to no avail. Can you provide more info on this display? And from what I can see the OEM unit use a ribbon cable for the video is there a recommended ribbon to ntsc video adapter?

TPMS Function

Hi all,

I am still waffling over this style unit. Does the unit support native TPMS on the GT or no? Everything I see in the various sellers says it supports TPMS but then show add on modules and tire sensors. Since this unit is used for many different cars which may or may not have native TPMS this causes me confusion.

Are you using the native TPMS? If not, anyone and the 'USB' TPMS in the ads or did you just do without. If so how did you disable the annoying lights on the dash for the TPMS?

Thanks!

So I just swapped back my BenHur because my Tesla screen wasn’t controlling the Suspension. It was greyed out, suspension seemed fine but not sure if it was even adding air back in even if I couldn’t adjust height.

After I swapped the BH back it worked again. Haven’t tried swapping back yet to see if maybe the suspension was in a bad state and now it would be fixed with the Tesla screen.
