just bought a 2010 GTC Speed and learning what everything does.
i tried to fold down the rear centre armrest (in front of the ski loading hatch) and it just came away in my hand. I’ve had assumed there would be some posts in the side holding it in place so it folds folds between the rear seats but it just seems to have a lip at the bottom and a lever at the top.
OK, I'm sure the OW diagrams the use of the rear center arm rest. It does in my 2009 OW.
That said, it sounds like yours is broken or disconnected.
The arm rest does fold down between the two seats, pivoting on an attachment point at the base of the armrest assembly. If you examine yours you should be able to see how it attaches. The pivot point is approximately 4 to 6 inches from the bottom of the arm rest.
Since this is a new purchase, do you have any recourse for repair by the seller?
Thanks for the responses. My car doesn't have the extended centre console and having seen a video of how to manually operate the roof, I noticed in the video, the armrest was the same as mine - just a lip at the bottom and a clip at the top so I assume on the GTC it doesn't fold - its just a cover for the ski hatch/roof access and is either in place or removed.
