Any buyer's guides, do's or dont's, etc?

Hello,
I am considering buying a Bentley Continental GT so I am looking for a "buyer's guide", list of do's and dont's, better or worse years, maintenace schedules, sourcing parts, local SF bay area dealers recommend for doing PPI (pre purchase inspections) etc. And I am looking for a convertible so any issues regarding that aspect would also be appreciated. I know Bentley is an extremely expensive marque so prefer to avoid any costly mistakes. I am no stranger to expensive, higher maintenance, marques having owned and currently own Porsche, BMW and Range Rover. The Bentley would probably replace my BMW 840. I noticed prices for 2013 Continental GT or so are pretty reasonable right now. I have always prided myself on doing my own work when possible.

Thank you in advance.

This may be helpful as a start to explain the year-to-year differences. My first was a 2009 and now I have a 2016. I your budget allows, go for 2015 or later and look for under 30K miles.

Thanks BruceR.
Since you have the actual experience, what were the changes in 2015 that make it better? I was looking online yesterday after reading your response and did notice a difference in prices. I'm sure there's a reason.
Thanks again!

Looks like I forgot to to add the link I wanted you to see. This gives a pretty good overview of the 3 generations and mid-generation changes.

First off, are you looking for a gen2 car or a gen3 car?

See the threads here on the turbo oil line issue on the V8s, that's something to watch out for. If the car you select doesn't have that remediated, that's $4K right there.

As nice as gen3 cars sound, my right now my price range is gen2.
Thanks for the heads up on the turbo oil line issue nyca. That would be a very pricey issue.
