BMW 335i now in the 11's

Fastest 335i ran at Moroso 11/30. Car dynoed at 490 wtq and 432whp.

60' 1.664 sec
11.908 sec. @ 115.93mph

Drag Radials
Catless Downpipes
AA Xede
Custom Tune
IC Upgrade
6AT upgrade
Pump Gas 93 Oct

This really sucks, because you can't see the time and the video is upside down. They are trying to re-upload it right now. Warning for explicit language.

That is very impressive J, I don't buy the 93 octane, but doesn't matter that is a great ET and trap.

yeah, no way they're making 200+bhp over stock on regular old 93 unleaded...especially with the catless downpipes...whats 6AT upgrade? He upgraded the trans?

eMJay1133 Dec 1, 2007 11:58 PM

How much boost is it running?

Estoril M Dec 2, 2007 12:22 AM

Considering it's making that much power and torque to the wheels and it was on drag radials, it should have been quicker. Still impressive though. The 335i is turning into the german supra.

I don't buy the 93 octane,
i wonder how much direct injection helps out on this front, it should help keep detonation at bay.

slicer Dec 2, 2007 01:19 AM

That is crazyness!

Still have to see what this guy (vip_tuning) have actually done to the car. He doesn't seem to speak perfect English on E90post and I am not understanding him correctly. He speaks of some sort Crank Case upgrade as well as many others so this is not a simple bolt on computer and some exhaust. But impressive none-the-less.

He didn't upgrade the crank case he upgraded the "Oil catch can" his mod list looks like alot but really isn't and Frankly my body made basicially more tourqe on a Mustang dyno with about as much hp then this guy did on a Dynojet last thursday and all he has are

UR High Flow catted DP's , Custom FMIC , Catback Exhaust, and a Generic tune. Granted with higher octane fuel but proves a point. We're both going to get custom one off maps for each of our cars soon.I'll post dyno's later.

In the mean time this is mod list for the dude that ran 11's..

MODS
COMPLETE VIP INTERCOOLING PIPING HOTSIDE AND COLDSIDE
reason why intercooling piping, car was struggling for cfm to volumetric effiency
COMPLETELY REDONE STOCK FMIC INTERNALLY
reason flow was'nt effience, yes factory size fmic is good for the flow of the turbos but if you upgrade to larger turbos then yes bigger fmic is better
COMPLETELY NEW VIP_TUNING CAI 3"
reason why turbos need no restriction on air volume, factory induction is way to small
COMPLETELY CUSTOM MODIFIED VIP_TUNING EXHAUST. CATLESS 2.5DP(NO UR)CUSTOM 2.5 PIPING WITH STOCK MUFFLERS IN THE REAR ALSO CUT OUTS OPENS AT 4PSI REGARDLESS AT WHAT GEAR YOUR IN
reason why exhaust is a big factor on force induction
COMPLETELY CUSTOM VIP_TUNING CRANK CASE VACCUM/OIL CATCH CAN ADAPTER
reason why theres way to much oil coming through the charge pipes and robbing horsepower(note when i took out my charge pipes and fmic there was a good amount of oil in it)
COMPLETE CUSTOME TUNE EXEDE BY VIP_TUNING COUNTLESS HOURS OF R&D AND TUNING
reason time frame wasnt adequate with AA (not to bash ok ppl)
COMPLETE FULL LOCK QUAIFFE REAR END
reason putting power down dead even on the 60 ft.
COMPLETELY NEW STALL CONVERTOR (TORQUE CONVERTOR)
reason not to have lagg when accelleration on the 1320's

Hope everything works out for you. I wouldn't want to put so much out of those dinky turbos and the weak aluminum block but thats just me. Please keep us posted on your results!

hahaha...

But the car is way sick, very cool.

DanWeber Dec 2, 2007 08:05 AM

I don't understand how they get so much power out of these little turbos.
I know that they (BMW) had bigger turbos at the beginning of the development and they were making over 400hp (to the crank). Then they decided to go to smaller turbos because they did not want to interfere with some other cars in their line up (I guess the M3 hilarious)
