your car has been at evosport that long just for some little mods? sounds very minor.

Actually, it is minor. See, the DCT is run off the crank by a pulley. So if I want underdrive pullies for example, the pulleys available for the manual could possibly underdrive the DCT causing issues.

So, they used my car to get new pulley measurements to produce a set of pulleys specifically for the DCT. Although a minor mod, it takes time to develop and manufacture a new product.

 

well everyone is entitled to their own opinion. anything can happen in a race. but if you try and control as many variables as possible it becomes more of a math equation. i can care less but, if you want to make this personal i say NO PROBLEMO. it should be interesting.. for scientific purposes. just give me a shout when you are ready with all your new mods.

Still haven't answered it, why does the C63 do better against the E55 then the M3, yet the M3 somehow destroys the C63?

In the M3 vs C63 race the C63 must have messed up somehow, the evidence doesn't support your beliefs buddy.

If you watch these videos the last race is completely broken compared to the E55 vs M3 and E55 vs C63.

 

Come to whatever conclusion you want on your own.

These videos are hardly the be all end all, who knows what the temp was during each run, if the cars had a cooldown, etc, they are all so close these small variables will influence.

If you actually look at the videos the E55 pulls the C63 up top, the E55 does not pull the M3 up top. The E55 gets the jump at first and maintains the distance.

Regardless, just for you, I will run Max H.

Whats is that the said M3 is not stock but has a Hartge exhaust! Get a stock M3 with a stock C63 and let them run.

All the roadtests/magazine tests I've seen show the C63 being faster in a straight line along with the numbers these cars produce bring me to my conclusion.

Whats being done to your car at evosport, are you going to run Max H stock?

Funny, the tests for the DCT I have seen put it right at if not ahead the C63. Depends who you read and which M3 you want to look at I guess. It seems to me it is a drivers race. According to these videos, you get a free flowing muffler and you work the C63 hard.

Yes my car has a blower. your does not. i dont have to downshift 2 or 3 gears just to pass someone on the street or fwy. i have something called torque. and plenty of it. a gentle tap of the gas and wooosh off we go without any fuss. exactly why i obtained it. its obvious you bought your car for different reasons. btw how you will you prove your theory about m3 dct being faster then c63 in a straight line when you got all those mods done?? sounds to me you bit off more then you can chew on these forums and frantically went and started doing custom mods to your car to improve perfomance. that is so transparent its not even funny. wait, yes it is..

Bottom line. nobody said your m3 is wack. so i dont know why you get so defensive about your car?? its a great car and very capable. but all cars have a strong point and weakness. anything can happen in a race, but the consensus seems to be along these lines.

M3 = fast around a track, high tech and lots of gadgets.

C63 = luxurious stop light hero.

 

I took my car to Evosport for springs and we worked out a deal that they would test out the DCT pullies using my car. What was I supposed to do? Say hey, don't put on the pullies so I can prove things to Max H?

Second of all, you got your weight for the M3 wrong. With DCT, it is a 65 pound penalty, and the car is at 3700.

I could care less what people say but considering this is an open automotive forum I WILL voice my opinion and provide what I feel is accurate information.

I would never boil the cars down to just a few words, they are much more than that.

 

you dont have to prove anything to me. but, if you are trying to prove a point that m3 dct is quicker then a c63 to everyone else, what better way then to demonstrate it yourself. thats all im saying. when you modify your car, that changes the variables.

3704 lbs for m3 dct. i stand corrected. that is still 496 lbs difference.

I think we will still be able to get a general idea of the performance of the cars. My goal is simply to show these cars are all at such a high performance level that something as simple as traction off the line will influence the outcome. The driver becomes the greatest variable.

The C63 does not pull away from a DCT M3, it is a drivers race.

CURI0 what color is your car?? I think I might have seen it the other day if its carbon black? Also next time Ill PM you for some runs. We did about 10 runs yesterday in "Mexico" ... My M6- two modded M5's, a few E63's and Max's E55.
