For daily duties S4 for daily/track M3 hands down it's a more rewarding car to drive right...
there is a reason why it's commonplace now over the S4 it's a great car and people want the best especially performance orientated drivers but thats just my 0.02

Dudes, we gotta remember he said "first car". This is some well-to-do 15 year old here. S4 all the way. I had a new one back in 2004. He's going to have his hands full. I promise. If he gets the hang of it, he'll just need to take out the rear sway and put a stiff front in for all of $150. I guarantee that, other than brakes, the car would handle all that 90% of us 6speed commentators could throw at it. In the meantime, it'd bail him out of all the stupid **** he did, whereas the M3 would be that car that bit him in the *** back in the day, and was talked about every time someone had the ***** to ask why he was in a wheelchair.

the m3 can def bite u in the ***....but it is more fun...i owned b7 rs4 and e46 m3...the AWD will be useful on the east coast...and definetly more confidence inspiring..and amazing exhaust note

I'm a huge fan of both BMW and Audi, but I'm starting to think that the S4 would be great for the awd but the V8 would be harsh on gas whereas the M3 has the S54 which gets good to decent gas mileage but the rear wheel drive might bite me in the *** in the winter, and thats where I'm stuck.
