My convertible top won't work. 2000 M Roadster.
 

What i know:
1.) The pump and motor are good and will operate the top when powered directly.
2.)The button itself is not the issue, as I have tried one from an identical car which had a working top.

Theories:
1.) There are some micro-switches in the top somewhere which are malfunctioning
2.) The vehicle speed sensor (which I know to be faulty) has some control over the top and needs to be replaced.

Any help is much appreciated!

Most convertibles take input from the VSS. For example, the Honda S2000 will not allow you to operate the top over approx. 7 mph.
