+1

I can't get over the hideous interior either.

Yeah those are production photos. I'll have to see it in person before I can make any judgements.

Blah im not feeling it either, front bumper is too high in comparison to the sideskirts from the side IMO, mirrors are ugly, interior is nothing special, hood/buldge/vents are disturbing, im sad to say im not a fan of this M car :(

DrwVIP Apr 5, 2007 01:41 PM

i still love it...

The color for this car would be some type of darker silver or seal greay with the imola red or carmon red interior... *that* would be hot... and the tinted windows are WAY too dark... need something say @ 10% tint max... then it's a looker

Definately not loving it. Sorry, but in my view, BMW buried it's brand with this one. They had a chance to bounce back, but instead fell down.

I don't agree... when you see actual production versions in different colors the car looks smoking hot... has the silhouette of an E36 M3 as it is much more slender than the E46 M3 and... don't take these pics too seriously... the car is gorgeous and I feel BMW couldn't have done a better job... very detailed styling touches that make the E46 M3 look a little dated...

Can't judge this car by photos. The hood is due to the 4.0 414-hp V8, which is lighter then the previous 3.2 liter six. CF roof is hot. The mirrors are designed to have the air flow smooth with out loud wind noise.

I agree with the comment about seeing it in Steel grey with the Red/cinn interior.

Seats are plain, which we could see a more sporty look similar to the old vaders. But i am sure they are comfy as hell.

Thanks for that great analysis based on pictures of the car.

What's always attracted me to the M range is that Germanic approach to pioneering technology. They've always been able to find the right balance between form and function - catering to true car enthusiasts. Understatement is a powerful weapon, and the sad thing is, I see none of that in this car.

I'm sure it'll be an absolute thrill to drive, and more competent than any of its predecessors, but the M3 seems to have lost a lot of the reserve and confidence that distinguishes the previous models.

I guess my point is that it's a BMW M3, and M3:s really don't need to shout. Sadly, I feel this design does, and that's a step away from what makes M:s different..
