Clearance Issues with 19's?
I have a 97 Boxster and am currently running on the factory 17's while my Kineses Racing 3 pieces are being refinished (changing the color). The Kinesis 18's ran great with no problems on my Eibach Pro Sport lowered suspension of (1.5 inches I believe). I also have 2 other sets of 19's (Ruger Sport and SSR3's) which I haven't tried yet. Does anyone know if I will have clearance or rubbing issues if I use the 19's on my Boxster? I am waiting for some 15MM spacers in order to fit the SSR GT3's and/or Ruger Sports. I understand that my 97 model's suspension is not meant to handle 19's but its worth it for the look. I don't track the car.

Depends also on your tire aspect ratio... if you have the proper plus sizing taken into account, and your offset is okay, then as far as rubbing/clearance, it should be the same...
Though, as you're already aware of, the 97 boxster wasn't designed for anything larger than 17"... Revisions in the 98 Boxster for fitting larger wheels were due (per the Bentley manual) to rear end structural body modifications including: wheel well and coil spring mount, lower engine compartment bulkhead, rear wall crossmember, and rear axle mount reinforcements... Hope this helps |

I have been running 19s on my lowered Boxster for 2 years with no problems.
Mine is a 99. |
The wheel's diameter is not the problem but the wheel offset and tire sizes are.

19's installed with no problems
Just put the 19's on and haven't had any problems (actually had a mjor problem with the stock Porsche lock nut snapping). Here are some pics for now. I used 15MM H&R spacers in the rear and the car is lowered about 1.5 inches with Eibach Pro's. Tire sizes are 275/30 and 225/35. What do you guys think? I will throw my Kinesis Racing 18's on next week when they come back from refinishing to compare the two sets.
