Victor Equipment Zehn rims and Sparco Torinos in 986 Boxster S

I said I would post some pics a while ago, so here they are. First the rims and then the Sparco Torinos.

A note about the Torinos: they don't fit. I saw them in somebody else's car, so I went ahead and bought them, but they had to be modified to fit the 986. The Torinos have adjustment ***** on both sides as well as plastic covers that will not quite fit when the seat is centered. To make the seats fit, the right-side **** and cover on the driver's seat and the left-side **** and cover on the passenger side must be removed to keep from rubbing on the center console. After the **** is removed, the adjustment shaft sticks out too far and has to be cut (I drilled it and put a cotter pin in to hold it in place, since this is what the **** does). This looks ok because you can't actually see the mechanism once the seat is in the car.

On the outside edge of each seat, I was able to leave the *****/covers in place. However, the seats cannot slide all the way back if the ***** are left on. I am right at 5'-11.5, and this is ok for me. If you don't want adjustment, the ***** could be removed and the seat could slide maybe 1.5-2" further back. But if you don't want adjustment, why buy Torinos?

The Torinos + Sparco seat sliders end up being just about the same seating height as the stock seats, but they have far more torso support. They are nice seats, but if I were to do it over again, I'd go ahead and buy the Evos because 1) I don't use the recline or slide functions at all, 2) the Evos probably hug the torso a bit better while having more shoulder room, and 3) the Evos are really light.

This last picture was supposed to show the removed cover on the console side of the driver's seat. It's hard to tell, but with the **** and cover removed, there is some clearance so that sliding the seat back/forward will not rub the center console.

Will factory center caps fit in the Zehn wheels? Where did you buy the wheels? Thank you.

I got the wheels at Discount Tire. Big O can also get them. Not sure about the center caps because I couldn't figure out how to remove my old caps.

The victor equipment wheels do accept porsche center caps... if you look closely at your porsche center caps (or the victors, for that matter), you'll see a small pair of holes on the opposite sides of each other... coat hanger in both of those and just pull... out they come..

I have some Victor Equipment LeMans rims on my Cayman and have the Porsche center caps in them... looks good..

I like the look of the seats in your car.

Your car is looking good! The only thing I would do differently would be black center caps.

Thanks, I hadn't even considered that yet. I just replaced the top and have been planning other things like M030 suspension, V8 swap, and new exhaust, but I guess I should go ahead and take care of the little details that make it look better externally such as:

clear sides
clear tails
Porsche center caps
ash-tray delete

Also need to get that missing plastic guard that goes under the right side of the front bumper cover.

Victor rims

Hi! I just wanted to know if you are having any issues with the new rims in regards to a slight shimmy front or rear. I just replace a set of OEM turbo twists with a set of Lemans 18's from Victor equipment and I'm getting a slight wiggle coming from the rear, just want to know if that is something I have to live with for aftermarket rims or if they are not balanced properly. Any feedback is appreciated.

Lance

I have not noticed any problems, and the tire shop did not mention having issues balancing these. Once my tires are warmed up, everything is smooth like butter.

might want to make sure the shop you go to has a high speed balancer such as a Hunter. if they do high speed balancing maybe they just messed it up. if you tell them maybe you can get them to do it again for free. no hurt in asking.

if they dont do high speed balancing and do only static then you might just want to go somewhere else.

thx lobo I'll ask if they did it static

taking it back to the shop later this week to get the balancing corrected, I detached the bumper yesterday and dropped it off this morning at the body shop to get repainted, two nice gashes in the bumper had to get fixed... radiators are cleaned up nicely after detaching bumper(found a dental floss pick in there lol) ... added some flat black diamond mesh to the lower grills to prevent some of that debris from re-entering the radiators.
