Can I fit 996 GT3 wheels on an otherwise stock 2007 Cayman S

I ran a couple searches and couldn't find anything that matches this specific topic. Sorry if I missed a past thread.

I recently picked up a 2007 Cayman S. In looking for a set of wheels and tires to get me through a season of autocross, I've founds a local guy selling a set of 996 GT3 wheels and tires for a fair price.

I've been able to find the sizes of my stock tires - it looks like the GT3's are an inch wider in the back. I have no information on the offset, have to crash soon to make it to work tomorrow and would really appreciate any information that may help before I decide weather or not to make an offer tomorrow afternoon.

I assume it's ok to run different wheels without tire pressure monitors for the duration of an event before throwing the normal ones on, but let me know if this is stupid for some reason that I can't see.

Thanks in advance, and sorry about the horrible first post.

Well, if the guy is local, you should just mount up and see.

They currently have a set of Michelin Sport Cup tires. If they're too worn I'll probably replace them with some slicks.

Is there a recommended set of spacers that people here tend to use or are they all fine?

Personally, I have had 2 sets of FVD spacers. They sell 5, 7, 15, 18 and 23mm. They are hub centric and I have no problems with them on/off the track. Give Rhonda @ FVD a call.

Thanks for the info guys. These might have been picked up already, but I've been talking with a local shop and they should fit with just the spacers. Someone else made an offer before I did so I probably won't get them unless they pull some Craigslist "I only brought 60% of what I offered, take it or leave it" crap.

Again, thanks for the information! You guys are awesome - I expected the "use the search function dumbo" response that you get in most forums.
