I went from a 997.1 Carrera S to a 991 Carrera. I'm also interested in the Cayman GTS like you. The 991 has long gears and a flat midrange power band. If the Cayman GTS feels like that. No thanks. The 3.8 has great power delivery. You have torque to drive yourself out of corners. The 3.4 with its long gears and and flat power band is nothing like that. I watched a Evo review on the 981 Cayman S and they said its long geared as well. Not sure if the Cayman GTS has a tighter gear box or not. Hopefully.

 

I'm starting to like the Cayman.

 

I am ready to get back to small light cars...this is extremely appealing!
