Aggressive and civil, all in one perfect exhaust.

We studied the market. Existing aftermarket Boxster S and Cayman S systems revealed untenable tones at certain points in the power band. This set the stage for our engineering group to craft a bespoke system that would be both aggressive at full throttle yet civil enough for daily cruising.

The prototyping process was a long road: AWE Tuning sound engineers carefully studied the tones of our prototype Boxster S and Cayman S iterations at various RPMs, ultimately engineering a bespoke Boxster S and Cayman S solution that combats frequencies that are not appropriate for a car of this caliber – retaining and building upon only the perfect notes.


Purged performance.

The key to an AWE Tuning exhaust’s performance is extracting every ounce of available flow from the system without compromising daily driving characteristics or the settings mandated by the factory computer. The commitment to maximum flow is why our master fabricators hand-finish every TIG weld, and why the Porsche Boxster S and Cayman S Performance Exhaust is also gas purge welded to remove any imperfections that may impede maximum flow.

Tip options.

The AWE Tuning Boxster S and Cayman S Performance Exhausts come with two tip options: 102mm Chrome Silver double walled tips, and 102mm Diamond Black double walled tips. All tips are stamped AWE Tuning, so they’ll know what team you’re on.

Hi Zack,

Interested in a quote with the black tips for my Riv Blue 981S.

Was curious if the exhaust still maintains that burble sound (backfire) like the factory exhaust when you downshift under deceleration and/or off throttle the car? Just curious, the video sounds great, but were mostly upshifts that i could really hear.

Our exhaust does maintain the burble and overrun of the OE exhaust, while enhancing the sound profile.

We're still finishing up construction of the first production system; the system used for photos, while dimensionally correct, wasn't quite photo-worthy after the development process. :)

Ok. Will the exhaust sold be a polished system? Also pricing? I live in NJ about 35 mins form your shop, can exhaust be picked up? What do you charge for install? Thanks

Mufflers and tips are polished, piping is raw stainless.

Pricing can be found on our 981 Boxster S Performance Exhaust Page, HERE, and they can be picked up. However, as all of our exhausts are built-to-order, so there is a bit of a lead time from when the order is placed to when you can pick it up.
