GP Automobile Renewal Service - GT4- Paint correction, nano coating, and clear bra

Here's a pretty cool project we finished up recently for a long-time client of ours. Our initial encounter was well over a decade ago on his Acura NSX...both he, and us, have come a long way since that time. Below, you'll see a focus on our clear bra service and the level of detail that goes into our Moderate, or semi-custom, installation. Hope it gives a more "inside" view of a "GP" installation.

Once we perform a thorough paint correction to remove imperfections such as swirls, microscratches, factory buffer marks, etc., we're left with a finish that is often far superior than the day our clients take delivery. The ideology is, by installing clear bra, you not only protect against rock chips, road debris, etc., but you've now "frozen" the paint in time. This is quite a comforting factor to most our clients, and also good to know when the day comes to sell the car. Knowing the level of detail a Porsche receives here at GP, has made many of our clients happy come resale time. Our client get top $$$ at resale, and the new owner has assurance of the level of care his/her Porsche has received during previous ownership. WIN/WIN for both enthusiasts and a very happy Porsche starts its next chapter.

At GP, we strive for perfection, and it's an amazing and enjoyable journey for us OCD enthusiasts. For example, on our "Moderate" installtions, we use XPEL DAP Software, an industry standard, to plot our film. The fitment and level of detail in DAP is second-to-none. However, this is a great starting point, but still needs the "GP" touch. Below, is an example of the standard pattern that is available for a Cayman GT4 hood/fenders and the bumper pattern. The areas in yellow, are what DAP allows for extension, or wrapped edges.

After many hours assesing a project and refining the pattern in DAP, we are rewarded with a pattern that is a balance of seamless coverage and amazing "value" to the client. Hence why we call it "semi-custom". Below, you will notice the fenders and how the film is now wrapped into the wheels well, into the gas door area, and wrapped along the edge that meets the doors. This gives greater protection, a more durable and worry-free for the client since there are no exposed edges to get dirt or wax into, and the film is undetected.

Once Paint correction and pattern custimization are complete, we dive into the installtion

Specializing in Porsches gives us a unique perspective and skill level that only a specialist can earn by countless hours of perfecting a craft on the same subject

A big thank you to Moe and his guys at GP for taking such great care of my then new baby and helping me make sure she will look as good in several years as she does today.

If you live in S. CA you're both lucky and cursed... lucky because there are a lot of options for detailers/PPF installers/etc. Cursed because just because someone does this work for a living, does not make them good at it.

In my experience the installer is actually way more important that the product in many instances. Today's PPF is so much better than even a few short years ago but here in the saturated car mecca of S. CA you still find folks who are cutting paint, leaving stretch marks, and worse.

I'll be honest... there are cheaper alternatives than GP, but there are also a lot more expensive. However, just as when you buy a car like a Porsche... sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Moe and his guys continue to exceed my very high expectations. He's a car enthusiast and he's passionate about what he does. He treats my cars like they're his own and has earned my trust.

So thanks again Moe for doing what you do. If anyone in S. CA (or other areas... a gentleman took delivery of a brand new Maclaren 675 Long Tail and was having it cared for before shipping it to Texas while my comparatively pedestrian GT4 was there) I strongly recommend Moe and GP and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions/concerns.

And to be clear... I have absolutely no financial stake in Moe's business nor do I benefit financially from my praise or this post. I am a car guy and really just want to recognize good, honest work, and hopefully pass on some of the benefit of all the due diligence I did before having this work done.

My PTT badly need a buff since I bought it, I really lucked into a situation where the local Lambo shop (client) did the correction, and free ceramic coating! That’s right, just when I wanted my car done they needed a demo car to do train8ng on a new ceramic coating, so I said he’ll yeah!

it looks sooo much better now
