BBi Autosport Porsche 981 Cayman S Weekend Track Build




This Porsche 981 Cayman S is total sleeper in the canyons. We instelled BBi Autosport track suspension and safety package with goodies from COBB Tuning, JRZ Suspension Engineering, Borla Performance Industries, and Cobra Racing. Diversion Splitter and Dimpled Interior

The new 981 Plenums also benefits from the internal dimpling effect that have been implemented on all Plenums moving foward. This internal dimpling allows us to control the boundary layer and maximize airflow. Just like a dimpled golf ball travels farther than a smooth golf ball. Controlled turbulent air creates less friction and "tumbles" over a given area more efficiently.

Cobb Tuning Porsche Cayman GT4 Accessport V3



Features

• Simple Installation: Everything is included for the simple installation you can do in your driveway! Intuitive on-screen instructions identify your exact vehicle, saves stock vehicle data, and displays available OTS maps.
• Change Maps: Store up to 100 maps from our OTS map database or from your favorite COBB tuner and quickly switch between them for any need.
• Vehicle Upgrade Support: As you continue to modify your car, Accessport maps can be used to optimize performance upgrades. Changing the map can be done in less than 1 minute in your driveway.
• In Car Mount: The Accessport can be mounted in vehicle to allow you to monitor the performance data.
• Data Logging: Record multiple data channels simultaneously for in-depth evaluation of engine performance. Stores up to 1 hour of continuous data.
• Gauges: Use your Accessport as a gauge to monitor boost or any other live information, directly from the ECU.
• Trouble Codes: Read engine trouble codes to diagnose issues. Clear them when resolved. Prevent expensive trips to the dealership.
• Full Uninstall: Using the Uninstall option will completely remove our programming from the car’s ECU. It is then able to be re-installed after a dealer visit or on another vehicle.

To improve handling, we installed our Stage 3 BBi Street Cup Suspension package along with JRZ RS Touring Coilovers & Tarrett Engineering's Adjustable Sway Bar End Links. Our upgraded components provided the additional adjustment ranges to help maintain proper suspension geometry that not be achieved with the factory arms.

• Provides additional rear toe adjustment
• OEM link is non-adjustable and eccentric bolt provides limited adjustment range, causing excessive tire wear and handling issues.
• Helps maintain proper rear end suspension geometry
• Each kit includes pair of 2 Links

• Connects the Lower Control Arm to the subframe

BBi Autosport Front Adjustable Thrust Arm Bushing Kit

• Provides two eccentric mounting points
• Used to adjust for increasing or decreasing wheelbase, and adjustable caster.
• A must-have for extended lower control arms (GT3 control arms or eccentric monoballs) to correct for unintended caster change
• Compatible with all stock Porsche 996 and 997 lower control arms (including Porsche Motorsport Cup arms)

Tarrett Front and Rear Adjustable Sway Bar End Links

• Simple bolt-in replacement for the factory drop links
• Left & right hand threaded rod-ends allow for simple length adjustment to eliminate swaybar preload
• Correctly sized, precision, Teflon-lined rod-ends for smooth and quiet operation, long life, and high reliability. No wear and rattling problems, like those seen with other designs, due to undersized or low-quality rod ends
• Eliminates the factory compliant plastic drop link bushings that deflect under loading and quickly wear out
• High misalignment, stainless steel spacers allow for superior bind free operation and corrosion resistance
• Precisely connects the stock or adjustable swaybar to the front strut assembly for improved feedback and swaybar response
• Overall length is adjustable to accommodate either stock or adjustable swaybar requirements

Worn Brake Rotors and Pads




For improved braking performance, we replaced the worn pads and rotors with upgraded components. We chose the Brembo Racing HTC 64T High-temperature brake fluid because it provides a very high dry boiling point and the Endless brake pads Tare the ultimate, dual-purpose street/light track that combines an aggressive initial bite and good heat resistance all while keeping dust and noise to a minimum.

To ensure optimum stopping performance, brake fluid should be replaced every two years because it can absorb moisture over time and also lowers the boiling temperature, reduce braking effectiveness.

BENEFITS:

• Brembo HTC 64T can handle high temperatures without loss of pedal feel (independently proven low compressibility).
• Has been specifically formulated to provide the highest performance and consistency under all racing conditions.
• Has an extremely high dry boiling point
• The higher viscosity of this fluid delivers a “stiffer” pedal and provides stable performance under extreme temperatures (critical in professional motorsports)
• Boiling Point Dry: 335 C / 635 F

After the suspension and power upgrades are in, we installed our Safety Package which includes Bolt-in Roll Bar, Sub-Strap Mount, and Shroth 6 point harnesses to properly secure the driver and provide additional protection.
